Who is Walking The Spirit Tours?
Walking The Spirit Tours is a cultural organization and travel company that creates opportunities for people to connect to Black heritage through experiential and virtual travel, speaking engagements, podcasts and videos, and through education. We started in 1994, in Paris, with signature tours then expanded into customized itineraries. Even more so since Covid-19 global pandemic has sharpened everyone’s sense of what’s truly important, we are encouraging people to learn and to travel with purpose.
To our own foundation we are adding a Resource Center that will serve students, education organizations, cultural venues, travelers of all ages and backgrounds, researchers, as well as travel professionals.
If you’d like to be part of the dedicated team that propels Black heritage travel and education intentions to a higher level, apply for one of our open positions. Check back often to find how you can join our expansion.
Our Mission
We see ourselves as a library with many fascinating rooms where you learn about Black history and heritage abroad and at home. In several of those rooms, visitors benefit from our travel industry know-how and on-the-ground experience. Here, we craft beautiful, luxury journeys full of marvelous food, awe-inspiring sites, off-the-beaten path discoveries, and meeting interesting people, and of course Black heritage tours and experiences.
Walking The Spirit Tours is an affiliate of Vision Travel (Canada), and member of the luxury consortium Virtuoso.

The Black presence past and present can be found in most places across the globe. We need many and diverse voices to bring that knowledge into the mainstream narrative.
